Literally speaking the name ‘Xemxija’ translates as ‘sunny’ – which perfectly sums up this bright part of the island. It is situated in the north west of the island, with unobstructed views out to sea. It is a quiet resort, surrounded by typical Maltese countryside and some of the most fertile valleys on the island. The picturesque harbour and promenade are both popular walking spots.

Xemija is ideally situated between two of Malta’s most popular sandy beaches – Golden Bay and Melieha Bay. Although tranquil throughout the year, it is also home to a number of excellent restaurants and bars. The bustling tourist resort Bugibba is a short distance away by car.
